The problems with translating a single view of all non-repetitions and first occurrences are as follows:
- No way to see context during translation.
- Almost impossible to share work among translators (you basically need to split your view into subviews, which requires several additional non-obvious steps).
- Almost impossible to submit something for external proofreading as the proofreader requires context.
- Hard to deliver work in stages, as you complete each individual file.
- No way to join/split segments unless you painstakingly join/split segments before you create such a view. On many big projects you actually make a decision to split/join segments during the translation stage, especially if the original document is badly formatted or requires rewordings.
