I have a large financial document that I am translating in memoQ. All of the number segments need to be transferred to the target without changes. I used the Populate Number Only Segments feature, but am getting behaviour that I don't understand. The transfer happens differently depending on the source segment, but I just want a direct copy/paste, with no changes. So:
12,345,678 is transferred correctly as 12,345,678
123,456 is sometimes transferred correctly as 123,456
But other times a decimal point is inserted instead of a comma:
123,456 is sometimes transferred incorrectly as 123.456
(12,345) is always transferred incorrectly as (12.345)
12,345 is always transferred incorrectly as 12.345
The auto-translation rules use the standard Numbers-English Group setting.
How can I set it so the transfers are done correctly - there are many hundreds of them and I don't want to have to do them manually.
