Actually, it can do most of that already. Mrs. Sabre forgot to update the front page's description when she released the most recent release.

Hi Samuel

I preferred the Softpedia link because it brings to the Windows download page directly

going on the Github instead, I saw tons of links and I had no clue about the right link for me

Cannot Export Bilingual Table RTF

Hello! So I am trying to export a bilingual table RTF, and whenever I try to do so, the window pops up for me to export it. There are 3 options: memoQ XLIFF, Trados DOC/RTF, or Table RTF. "memoQ XLIFF" is marked by default. "Trados DOC/RTF" is faded, but "Table RTF" is not, making it seem as if it were an option. However, when I go to click inside the bubble, the field does not fill in.

I have not had this problem before. I am using the trial version. I also just completed the latest update, but I had this problem before the update as well.

This is very frustrating. Please help!

Sorry to boost such an old post, but now SDL is bringing Trados Studio to the web in their 2021 version, is there any news of MemoQ offering a similar solution to Mac users?

Hello, I'm working in a project that has a lot of text that doesn't need to be translated between <> (usually codes like ). How could I tell MemoQ to treat all the text between <> as a tag, so I can just put them pressing F9 ?

Sorry if this has been asked lots of times, I did a quick search but couldn't find anything.

I've asked a couple months ago before buying the new version 9.2 and they confirmed at the moment they have no plans for a Mac-based version.

I've seen SDL has scheduled a web-based version (2021) but it is not really installed in the Mac system, it will be used online with a browser. This means all your data, such as TM and TB will be on the SDL servers. I understand it's a step forward but this is not the solution.

I sincerely don't understand why there isn't an SDL or MemoQ version for Mac. In the past there were less Mac users, but now there are much more users among translators.

I'm waiting for a Mac version since many years.

Let's wait....

Lucia

If the codes are typical or similar to HTML codes, the easiest way is this:

After opening the file in MemoQ:
Preparation -> Regex tagger -> choose "Tags and entities" -> OK

That should do it. Look out for cases where the tags actually contain translatable code (for example labels in HTML codes). Also, if your codes are more complicated you might have to dive deeper into Regex codes.

MemoQ offers the web tool memoQWebTrans, but it isn't a complete version.

I want to convert some text inside [...] into tags, for ex: [XENO:qst qst=86 ] and failed with regexp in Tagger.
Absolutely any symbols into square brackets.
I tried such regexp \[*\] But it`s wrong. Anybody knows right regexp?

Try the above.

You can find an explanation here:

Yeah that won't work. Safari isn't even supported.

\[[^\]]*\] works, but Eugene Gulak's version is simpler and better.

What I don't get is the use of both '?' (zero or one) and '*' (zero or more). '?' would seem redundant after '*', but it doesn't work without it.

It's not very well explained at .

Edit: there is indeed a description for '*?': 'zero or as few repeats as possible'.

And it cannot be used by a freelancer with personal TMs and TBs.

Apparently it can be used by agencies and similar. Or not?

One of the agencies I work for makes it available to their translators, but as I have my own licence and use Windows, I have never used the web version.

I guess the same goes for 'and similar'.

In any case, there isn't a full native version for Mac. If I had a Mac, I would use VMware or Parallels with Windows for the many applications that don't run on macOS. But then I could just as well use native Windows without macOS. So I don't have a Mac.

I tried {what you said above} and it worked well for me.
It only works with one tag per segment.

In a case like this:

[abc] normal text [def]

the whole line is turned into a tag.
